VBJ opens its largest Tamil Nadu showroom in Coimbatore, a 21,000 sq. ft. three-floor store with GIA-certified diamonds and a ₹900+ crore investment.

VBJ (Vummidi Bangaru Jewellers), described as India’s most trusted heirloom jewellery brand, has expanded into Coimbatore with its largest showroom in Tamil Nadu. The 21,000 sq. ft. store on 100 Feet Road marks VBJ’s entry into one of the state’s key jewellery markets and strengthens its presence beyond Chennai. The brand says it has invested ₹900+ crore in the Coimbatore showroom and plans to expand further across South India and the USA.

A 126-Year Legacy Meets Three Floors of Jewellery

Rooted in a 126-year legacy, VBJ combines in-house design, manufacturing and retail. Over the last five years, it has unveiled 15 collections, including Peacock, Floral and Parrot. The showroom spans three floors, each with its own category:

  • Ground floor: gold, precious and jadau jewellery

  • First floor: diamonds, solitaires and platinum collections

  • GIA-certified diamonds: offered in Coimbatore for the first time, bringing internationally recognised diamond certification to the city

  • Opening shortly: a silverware and silver jewellery floor, plus Atelier by VBJ, the brand’s exclusive luxury offering with private viewing lounges, personalised service and curated collections

What the Managing Partners Said

  • Amarendran Vummidi, Managing Partner, VBJ, called Coimbatore an important market given its strong business community and established customer base. He said the largest Tamil Nadu showroom reflects confidence in the city’s potential and appreciation for fine jewellery, and was built so customers can experience VBJ’s range, particularly contemporary bridal jewellery and diamonds, while the brand upholds the trust and craftsmanship of its 126-year legacy

  • Jithendra Vummidi, Managing Partner, VBJ, said the showroom reflects the changing expectations of today’s jewellery customer. The store’s scale allows a much wider assortment, while in-house design lets VBJ keep introducing new designs. With GIA-certified diamonds and an extensive bridal portfolio, he expects it to become an important destination for craftsmanship and choice

Inaugural and Festive Offers

  • 20% off making charges and value addition (VA) on gold, diamond, platinum and precious stone jewellery and silverware

  • 10% off on silver jewellery

  • An additional ₹125 per gram on the exchange of old gold

Expansion Plans and Targets

VBJ is entering a new phase of growth, with a strategy built around:

  • Expanding across key markets in Tamil Nadu and Telangana, including Tiruchirappalli and Hyderabad

  • Deepening its reach in high-potential Chennai catchments such as T. Nagar and Chromepet

  • Scaling up in the United States, building on its presence in Texas with a planned expansion into Milpitas, California, to serve the Indian diaspora

  • Reaching a revenue target of ₹5,000+ crore by FY 2027–28

Heritage Beyond Retail

As a fifth-generation family-run brand operating since 1900, VBJ is the creator of the historic Sengol (sceptre), a symbol of India’s democratic journey. It was rediscovered after 72 years through research by the VBJ team and reinstated beside the Speaker’s chair in India’s new Parliament building, Sansad Bhavan. VBJ also crafted a tribute to the Shree Ramcharitmanas, housed within the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Temple in Ayodhya.
